Music Lessons

Music lessons are individual and last from half an hour to a full hour. They are taught by our full-time music staff and by a team of over sixty visiting music teachers (click here to see an up-to-date list of our visiting teachers).

Tuition is available in the following:

  • Piano (classical and jazz), Harpsichord, Organ
  • Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass (classical and jazz)
  • Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Oboe, Bassoon, Recorder 
  • Trumpet, Cornet, Trombone, Tuba, Euphonium, French Horn
  • Harp
  • Classical Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar
  • Percussion (Timpani and Kit)
  • Composition
  • Singing
  • Music Technology
  • Music Theory
  • Bagpipes
  • Accordion
  • Steel Drums
  • Sitar, Tabla
  • Alexander Technique

Boys are expected to organize their own practising. They can use any room in the Music Schools that is not being used for teaching — the building is open 7.00 am – 10.00 pm (weekdays), 8.30 am – 10.00 pm (Saturdays) and 9.30 am – 10.00 pm (Sundays) — or they may be able to practise in their own House.

To Discontinue Music Lessons
The Music Schools' Manager must be sent parental notice in writing (e-mail, fax or letter) by the end of the previous half, or a half's fees will be charged.
