The College Collections
Eton College cares for many items of cultural and scientific interest.
The College Collections include:
The collections have been built up over many years and are a unique asset of the College. The artefacts, documents, books, paintings, and photographs are used for teaching purposes and research, and many items are lent to exhibitions all around the world.
The College maintains a permanent exhibition of items from its collections in the Museum of Eton Life.
As well as the collections listed above, all of which may be seen on tours of the College or by prior appointment, we also have a remarkable collection of silver, which specialist groups may apply to see.
And we have College Chapel, which contains a unique series of 15th-century Flemish wall-paintings alongside some remarkable 20th-century stained glass windows and many other items of interest.
Eton is supported by the Friends of the College Collections. Members benefit from free entry to Eton, including the Museum of Eton Life. They also receive newsletters and invitations to private views of exhibitions.
